1 Indian Army - In early 1938 Wg Cdr Bussell and Mr. Tooke were authorised by AirHQ to conduct recruitment Board for secondment of Indian Army officers to IAF. This course comprised of such officers. The first three were sent to Abu Suir in the canal zone of Eqypt for training (likely 4 FTS, RAF) as at that time RAF/ IAF did not have a training setup. MS Virdi, who joined in May 1939 was sent to UK for training.It

is suggested that one Lt. Dilip Choudhari, 7 Cavalary was also selected but we do not find his mention in any documents subsequently.
